Documentary series which focuses on what it means to be a family in Britain today. From the day children are born to the day they leave home, a mother’s work is never done. Janine was only 16 when she became a mother and is proud of her three daughters Danni, Becki and Kayleigh. Now she is about to become a young grandmother – but the baby has a serious medical condition. As a child, Mel always dreamed of being a mum and she is determined to give her kids the childhood she never had. She is saving up to take them to The World of Beatrix Potter, and has started a reward system for good behaviour, but the pressure is on for her. Husband Kris is out of work and he stays at home looking after the five kids while she is out earning the money. Mum and step-mum to eight children, Carole has always been a mother, but as one of her eldest prepares to leave home, she is struggling to let go.
